Shroud, a former FPS pro, said that Arc Raiders was becoming a waste of time because of cheaters. She's contemplating a break to fix the problem: "Embark had zero control over their games"

buy arc raiders weapons has become so commonplace that even major streamers have called it out. Michael 'Shroud' Grzesiek - a former FPS pro who is now a streamer - has joined the growing chorus of people frustrated by the frequency with which players cheat to win.

Grzesiek, in a recent live stream, mentioned that he has encountered cheaters enough times to consider taking a vacation from the game. In a clip posted on X/Twitter he claims that Embark "has no control" over its game. "If there's not a meaningful change within the next two weeks or a week, then what's point of fucking with playing?"

Justin 'Just9n Ortiz, who is his streaming partner claims that 50% of the players in each lobby are cheaters. The post also received a number of responses that support this bold claim.

One X/Twitterer says, "Most players won't be able to get it because they aren't playing in these top-aggressive lobbies." "At the very least, half of lobby players are either banned by VAC, have previous game bans or arc raiders coins.

Shroud GOES OFF against Embark Studios because they haven't fixed the cheating problem in Arc Raiders.

It's foolish to try and quantify this kind of behavior. This can lead you into a circular mindset based on biases that overlap, but players in general have been complaining about cheating more frequently. Stella Montis has a reputation of being a very difficult map to play due to the exploits.

Embark Studios acknowledges the problem in a limited way. A Discord community manager has commented on it. "All reports in-game are investigated, but it may take some time," states CM Birdie. "I get your frustration. The team is still actively taking action to stop them!

Although cheating can be annoying, it is a natural side effect from the launch and growth of Arc Raiders. Embark has no doubt been working on solutions. But in the meantime keep sending reports in to give the developers more data.

After a pivot late to $40 premium pricing, largely inspired from Helldivers 2, Arc Raiders developers Embark were faced with a second dilemma: Should we delay this? Patrick Soderlund is the Studio's CEO and Battlefield vet. He says that some big games cast a shadow over their launch plans, but none more so than Rockstar GTA 6.

Soderlund, in a conversation with GamesBeat recalls the discussions regarding when Arc Raiders will launch (thanks PC Gamer). "When we talked about moving the game, our first discussion was obviously GTA," says Soderlund.

We did not want them to be in our vicinity. Nobody wanted to get close to them. Once they announced the release date, we knew we could set a date. We had an idea of when Battlefield was due to release, and that Call of Duty would follow suit because that's what it does."

GTA 6 was delayed once again in November last year, pushing the release date to November 2026.

This story is a little more interesting because of the volume of former Battlefield talents at Embark. Battlefield 6 largely surpassing Call of Duty Black Ops 7 by 2025 adds a touch of irony. Arc Raiders - which was "intentionally", launched between the two FPS titans - ended up stealing the show at the end of the calendar year.

Soderlund says, "We didn't see a lot of Call of Duty as we began to see more of Battlefield 6." "But we felt, at the very end, that the game had been ready for release."

Soderlund claims that Arc Raiders benefitted from being sandwiched between Battlefield (and CoD) and two giants such as Battlefield. It's likely that the $40 price tag also helped.
